The MestiZa Project is an ambitious multi-media endeavor put forth to document the often-overlooked histories and experiences of mixed race Pilipino Americans.

The MestiZa Project seeks to create a space for mixed race Pilipino Americans in various ways. Themestizaproject.com, which is soon to be released, will house resources for mixed race Pilipino Americans, as well as pictures, stories, message boards, and other opportunities for mixed race Pilipino Americans to connect and interact with one another.

The MestiZa Project also includes a book that is currently in progress, in addition to a documentary film. This research seeks to validate and empower the polyvalent identities of mixed race Pilipino Americans by exploring intersections of race, class, sexual orientation, and gender as it relates to the Pilipino American mestiza/o.

The MestiZa Project is a WIP (work in progress).

If you have one Pilipino parent and one non-Pilipino parent, and are residing in North America, The MestiZa Project is looking for you!

The MestiZa Project is looking for mixed race Pilipinos of all ages, genders, sexual orientations, geographic locations, and class backgrounds.

mes-ti-za (me-'stE-z&) n. A woman of mixed racial ancestry.

The MestiZa Project is not limited to womyn, however it is consciously womyn centered.

It is called "The MestiZa Project" because it's creator most closely aligns her own ethnic identity with the word MestiZa. You do not have to identify as mestiZa or mestiZo to be a part of The MestiZa Project.

The MestiZa Project is the brainchild of Miriam R. Isip Warren, a Pilipina MestiZa who comes from German and Pinoy roots. As the author, creator, and sole conspirator behind the Project, Miriam is the womyn behind the camera, and the person who will recive your submissions, call you on the phone, and hopefully one day, meet and interview you in person. The MestiZa Project was born after it's creator recognized the lack of resources and writing by and about mixed race Pilipinos.
